Father's Day

| | Comments (0)

My second Father's Day as a dad. Juliet, Mia and I went upstate yesterday to hang with Juliet's family. Juliet's brother Chris is a dad X 2 with Lucca (nearly 3) and Marley, who is a newborn pumpkin.

I can definitely say that being a Dad has changed me. Every time I make a decision I think of how it affects the whole family. I've also become more protective of Juliet and Mia.

Children really teach you how to be in the moment. You have to focus on them when you're with them because they need that kind of guidance and attention. At first I resisted when Juliet suggested that we have a no TV policy until Mia is two, but now I see the wisdom of it.

Sure, Mia catches a glimpse of the TV (especially Mets games) every so often, but we've got many other ways to keep her occupied that are fun and productive.

I'm sure that I'll learn lots more over the next year as well.
